Dear EWS,

Our recording schedule is now finalized. With three weeks to go, I hope this gives you ample time to prepare your personal schedules in advance of our session. At this time, no additional individual accommodations can be made. The schedule will not be adjusted from this point forward.

2013 EWS RECORDING SESSION SCHEDULE

EWS Klavier Recording Session Schedule

Thank you very much for your patience throughout this process. My goal is to make this recording session as smooth and stress free for you as possible. To achieve this, the pre-session planning must be done right. It takes a large amount of time and the schedule must be approved by our engineer and producer. Accommodating the needs of an exceptionally large portion of our membership required weeks of preparation and shuffling. Regardless, the schedule is now ready and approved by Klavier.

Rehearsal notes and the rehearsal schedule for 5/18 and 6/1 will be posted tomorrow….. 5/15/13.

Thanks very much and I am looking forward to seeing you all this Saturday at MHS!!!

All Best Wishes,

Well Everyone…The day is almost here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#1 — Let’s start with some incredible news!!!!! – I had to open up the final section of Carnegie (the top balcony) yesterday. This means we are certain to have close to or even over 2,000 people at this performance! I believe this might be one of the largest audiences EWS will have ever played for so far!!!!! Not to shabby!!!!

#2 — We will have two very important and historic gentlemen with us that we will honor — Two Tuskegee Airmen….Roscoe C. Brown Jr. and Wilfred DeFour. Mr. Brown was a lead fighter pilot and featured character in the George Lucas film Red Tails. Mr. Brown is 91 and Mr. DeFour is 94. You can read the bios on these historic gentlemen here…

Tuskegee Airmen Bios

REMINDERS AND FINAL INFORMATION

1. Equipment/Music – You are responsible for transporting your instruments, accessories, concert dress, and music. There will be no copies of music or any means to make copies of the music at Carnegie Hall. You must bring all your music. PERCUSSION — See Jasmine for all info on Percussion equipment.

2. Dress – You may come dressed in street clothes or concert dress. It is your call. We will have plenty of time to change, but space is limited backstage. We will have the entire 4th floor to ourselves as a dressing room. It is tight though. Again, whatever you are most comfortable doing is fine.

3. Tickets – Tickets for the members of EWS will be given to Rebecca Gentile. She will hand them out to you in the dressing room after our sound check. If you would like to go listen to some of the high school bands (which would be great if you could) you will need your ticket to enter the audience part of the hall.

4. Arrival / Stage Door – Please note you must always enter and re-enter through the stage door and check in at the security desk. The address of the stage door is as follows….On 56th Street, between 6th and 7th, closer to 7th. 56th and 7th are one way streets.

5. The following files should address the rest of the information you need including schedules for both the rehearsal and performance, location of dressing rooms, etc.

Rehearsal Schedule MARCH 15 2013 – REHEARSAL – final

Now for the most important stuff…..

I would like to thank you all for what you have done to make this concert a reality. You are all consummate professionals and wonderful musicians. I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work with you each and every week! I know for many of you this will be the first time you have ever performed at Carnegie Hall and I know that this has been on the bucket list for EWS for many years so with that in mind….the goal for the evening is quite simple….

Make incredibly great music with incredibly great friends!!!!

Congratulations everyone!!!!! Enjoy every single second of this!
